DESCRIPTION:Needs for home nursing services are rising rapidly, as increasing hospital costs enforce the strategic transition to outpatient and community-based services. For over 80 years, VNA of Cape Cod has provided quality care, support and education to meet the physical, psychological, and emotional needs of ill residents of all ages and their families, through home health care, early intervention, and community health outreach programs. In 1997 the VNACC provided more than 500,000 home visits, from Bourne to Provincetown, and more than $410,000 in contributed care.
The Carelink 2000 Initiative campaign aims to benefit the VNA's entire service area population, by using computer technology to direct patient care and increase efficiency in record-keeping and use of time. This means less paperwork and more time serving patients in their homes, where they are happiest and where it has been proven they can recover more rapidly. Your support is invited to help develop the new system. (1998: HUMAN SERVICES: Health and Aging: General)
