Children's Museum at Holyoke
The Children's Museum of Holyoke has been serving children and families through creative programming, events and exhibits since 1981. Located in the heart of the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, over 60,000 visitors from around the region come to experience the Museum each year. Voted the 12th Best Children’s Museum in the country by Child Magazine, and winner of a multi-year grant from the prestigious Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Museum's 13,000 square feet of interactive, exhibit space includes physical science activities, role-play exhibits, instrument exploration, a design studio, and a theater, as well as developmentally-appropriate areas for its birth-through-toddler audience. With 51% of Holyoke's public school students living at or below the poverty level, the Museum remains committed to providing rich and significant learning opportunities to these families. Its 23-year-old Junior Volunteer Program is testament to this committment, connecting children to the Museum, opening new worlds, encouraging community service, and providing recognition for their positive contributions. This is a great museum. Let's celebrate it.
