Barnstable Land Trust founded 1983, is local, but works on the Cape’s largest township of seven villages— 60 square miles—population 50,000 to 150,000 in summers. In 2006, with a staff of three and dedicated volunteers, BLT worked with donors, grantmakers, and government agencies, to raise over $4 million to save two parcels totalling 33 acres of open land and a farm.
