What is social assistance for the sick? Each person’s life is varied, full of happy and sad moments, sometimes bringing happiness, and sometimes only a headache. But without this kaleidoscope of events, feelings and emotions, life would hardly bring us all pleasure. In any case, everyone should get the most out of his life, and that is what social assistance for the sick is for. But, for different people the maximum is also different. That is why modern society allocates funds and provides social assistance to the sick.
We cannot talk about any priorities, i.e. groups of people in need, who should receive social assistance first. After all, the needy include those who really need support, and they simply cannot do without it. In most cases, all those who need support get it, but can we call it good support?
To begin with, it is worth noting that the level of social assistance in developed countries is much higher. People with disabilities can live on the funds allocated to them by the country and receive good benefits. In our country, the situation is much worse. It is not easy for a disabled person to live on his or her pension alone, and one can forget about a luxurious life. Social assistance for the disabled has not reached the level that is necessary, precisely the level at which the disabled and those in need of assistance can live a happy life. People with disabilities find themselves in such a difficult situation not by choice, forced to suffer not only physically, but also morally.
Imagine how psychologically and physically difficult it is for disabled people, when every walk creates a lot of difficulties and problems. It is practically impossible to make purchases for a disabled person on one’s own. Streets and entrances are not properly equipped, and it takes phenomenal effort to get from one end of the city to the other. After all, most of us can’t even think of how difficult it is for a disabled person to take public transportation. Added to all of this is the low-grade social assistance for the sick. But when social assistance for the sick reaches the necessary level in our country, we can hardly expect significant changes in the near future.
